The 2025-2026 academic year was marked by numerous distinctions for faculty members and PhD students at TSM - Toulouse School of Management, part of Toulouse Capitole University, TSM-Research and TSM Doctoral Programme.

PhD thesis awards, academic distinctions, international recognition and appointments highlight the quality of the research conducted at TSM, as well as the commitment of its members to the national and international academic community.

Distinctions recognising research excellence at TSM

Catherine Casamatta awarded Institut Universitaire de France fellowship

Catherine Casamatta, Professor of Finance at Toulouse School of Management, was appointed as a laureate of Institut Universitaire de France (IUF) in 2026, alongside two other faculty members from Université Toulouse Capitole, in the senior members category, as part of a fundamental research chair.

This recognition rewards the excellence and influence of her research work in the field of corporate finance, within both the national and international academic communities.

International recognition for research conducted at TSM

In 2025, Lars Meyer-Waarden, Professor of Marketing at TSM, was ranked among the top 2% most-cited researchers worldwide according to the ranking established by Stanford University. This recognition highlights the international impact and influence of his research.

That same year, his article Transformative Privacy Calculus, co-authored with Julien Cloarec and Andreas Munzel, was recognised by Wiley as one of the most cited articles in the “Psychology and Marketing” category.

TSM PhD students recognised in France and internationally

PhD thesis awards recognising the quality of doctoral research

Several PhD graduates from TSM-Research (TSM-R) and TSM Doctoral Programme (TSM-DP) saw their research recognised during the academic year.

Aveline Cloître, who graduated with a PhD in Management Sciences from TSM, received the ANDESE 2025 PhD Thesis Award, which recognises outstanding research contributions in economics and management every year.

In April 2026, Thomas Teychenié’s thesis Human Minds, Machine Ethics: Moral Responsibility in the Psychology of AI Use was selected among the three best interdisciplinary PhD theses in management sciences by FNEGE.

PhD students recognised for the quality of their academic reviewing

Beyond the awards received for their own research, TSM PhD students actively contribute to the international academic community. As academic reviewers, they participate in assessing submissions to major academic conferences and contribute to the selection and improvement of research in management.

This involvement was notably recognised by the Academy of Management, one of the leading international academic associations in management. Eleanor Davey-Rogerson and Maysam Nour Eddin both received the Best Reviewer Award from the Organisational Behaviour division in 2025 and 2026 respectively, recognising the quality and rigour of their academic reviewing work.

Jana Herbig, Assistant Professor at TSM, also received two Best Reviewer Awards at the EURAM 2026 conference.

These distinctions illustrate the involvement of TSM PhD students in the international academic community, beyond their own research activities.
