On 2 June 2026, TSM – Toulouse School of Management, a school of Université Toulouse Capitole, visited the Residence of France in Brussels for a gathering with its alumni community in Belgium, as part of the celebrations marking the School’s 70th anniversary. Organised in partnership with the French Embassy in Belgium, the event brought together nearly 70 participants to discuss issues surrounding European sovereignty.
A meeting of TSM's alumni network in Belgium
Organised with the support of the French Embassy in Belgium and Olivier Benoît, Ambassador of TSM’s Alumni Network in Belgium, the evening brought together nearly 70 guests at the Residence of France.
The event formed part of the momentum generated by TSM’s 70th anniversary celebrations in 2025 and reflected the School’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its international alumni community.
His Excellency Xavier Lapeyre de Cabanes, Ambassador of France to the Kingdom of Belgium, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of Franco-Belgian cooperation in the economic and academic spheres. He also emphasised the prospects for expanding student mobility between the two countries, in line with the government’s objectives for the internationalisation of higher education pathways.
Julien Grobert, Dean of TSM, thanked the French Embassy in Belgium for hosting the event and underlined the importance of strengthening the School’s relationships with regional and international socio-economic stakeholders. This, he noted, is essential for keeping pace with developments in the world of work and continuing to offer programmes that address contemporary challenges.
In a world that is evolving ever more rapidly and becoming increasingly uncertain, we must remain an institution that inspires confidence and enables our students to grow and thrive.
The evening continued with a discussion between François Masclanis, Lecturer and Researcher in Economics and Geopolitics at ISG – Institut Supérieur de Gestion, and Frédéric Mauro, lawyer at the Brussels Bar and Associate Research Fellow at IRIS (Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques) in Paris, on the theme of European sovereignty in times of crisis.
An event to strengthen connections with TSM's alumni community
Beyond the discussions held throughout the evening, the event provided alumni, TSM’s corporate partners and representatives from the academic world with an opportunity to exchange ideas and expand their professional networks.
As Julien Grobert, Dean of TSM, explained:
TSM seeks to open itself up and encourage the cross-fertilisation of ideas, because we are convinced that, on our own, we may move forward, albeit without certainty, but together we can be certain of growing. At TSM, we are a community, and we will grow together.
This gathering demonstrates TSM’s commitment to nurturing an active and engaged community, both in France and internationally, while fostering dialogue between academia, the professional world and its graduates.
