Outgoing mobility with TSM: exchange programme for studying abroad

1. Students must have a certain number of credits

• For entry into Bachelor 2: be in the process of validating 60 ECTS or already hold 60 ECTS at the time of application.
• For entry into Bachelor 3 : be in the process of validating 120 ECTS or already hold 120 ECTS at the time of application.
• For entry into Master 1: be in the process of validating 180 ECTS or already hold 180 ECTS at the time of application.

It is necessary to meet the requirements of both TSM and the partner institution (pay attention to the required language tests): all the information is available on our interactive map (under the "Partner Universities" page).

2. Check that the programme is open to outgoing mobility

You should also check the specific details of mobility: semester or year-long departure, preferred destinations for a particular programme, etc.
To find out the specific requirements for outgoing mobility for each programme, please refer to the “International” tab on each programme page.

Gather Information

1. Choose your programme: Bachelor 2, Bachelor 3, L3 or M1 at TSM. Remember to check the entry requirements for each one.
   1. the specific entry requirements for each programme,
   2. the level of study, and the language levels and tests.
      Example: The Master’s in International Management requires a C1 level certificate in English.
2. Learn more about outgoing mobility: Attend TSM information sessions.
3. Contact the International Relations Office directly: outgoing@tsm-education.fr
4.  Choose your destination by consulting the map of TSM partner universities. You may submit up to 5 choices.
    

Prepare for the Language Test

1. Visit the Language Resource Centre at Université Toulouse Capitole to practice and test your level in English or Spanish.
2.  Register as early as possible to take your test so that you receive your results before the application deadline.
    

Application and Administrative Documents

1. Prepare the necessary documents (see list below) and attach them to your application on the MoveOn platform.
2.  Complete your application on MoveOn and submit it before the deadline.

The application form must be completed on the MoveOn platform, which centralises the applications before a deadline set around mid-January. It must include the following supporting documents:

• Language test(s) valid 
• Passport photo,
• Destinations listed in order of preference (please note that the order of preference is very important, as it is taken into account when allocating places),
• Baccalaureate transcript,
• Transcript of grades from last years of study,
• CV and cover letter,
  • 1 single letter for the choice of training at TSM and for mobility. We advise you to proceed as follows: 1/2 or 1 page on the choice of training and a paragraph for each destination. There is no maximum number of pages. The letter should be addressed to the person in charge of the course.

For all mobility applications, students who wish to take courses in a language other than their mother tongue are required to take a language test.

Students must demonstrate a B2 level in the language of instruction of the host university. This requirement ensures that a minimum level is met to follow courses in the language of the host institution.

Students who can prove they hold the nationality of a country where the official language is the same as the language of instruction are exempt from the test. For example, if you are a French speaker and you are going to a university where the language of instruction is French, you do not need to take a language test (e.g., Québec, Belgium…).

Students must commit to providing the correct language test for their chosen destination on time. No extensions will be granted, so it is important to check the exam schedules as early as possible.

Language tests in English

For all mobility applications, a minimum B2 level is required, except for Master’s in International Management (M1) mobility, which requires a C1 level.

Tests accepted to prove a B2 level in English:

• For Master's 1: choose a test from the list of certifications accepted for enrollment at TSM, ensuring that the test is compatible with the one required by the target partner university or universities.
• For Bachelor's degrees: the test most commonly accepted by the target universities. If no indication is given or if no test is required, refer to the list on the partner university map

Discounts for TOEIC and TOEFL

TSM offers its students, including future students (as part of an outgoing mobility programme), a 10% discount on TOEFL tests. Please use the code TSMTOEFL at the time of payment.

For TSM students applying for outgoing mobility programmes, the school offers discounts on TOEIC tests (2 skills and 4 skills). Find all the information on the TSM student intranet (tab “Formations  / Tests de langue”).
 

Language Tests in Spanish, German, and Portuguese

A minimum B2 level is required.

For Spanish, DELE tests (see how to take it in Toulouse) or ELAO tests are accepted to demonstrate your level. Regarding ELAO tests, UT Capitole (and TSM) students can contact the Department of Languages and Civilisations at UT Capitole.

For German or Portuguese tests, please contact the International Relations Office at outgoing@tsm-education.fr.

After the application period begins in November, applications are reviewed between January and mid-February for departure in the following academic year, whether for year-long mobility or for the first or second semester.

Several criteria are considered during the selection process:

• Results and suitability of academic record,
• Motivation to study in the chosen programme at TSM and for studying abroad,
• Language level. Please note that the absence of a B2 level in the relevant language for a non-French-speaking destination is disqualifying.
• Consistency of the study plan with the programme and project.

A selection committee for outgoing mobility at TSM, composed of all academic coordinators from Bachelor's Year 2, Year 3, and Master's Year 1, as well as the outgoing mobility team from the International Relations Office, evaluates and allocates places based on preferences and availability at partner universities.

Some universities are more in demand than others, making it more difficult to secure a place there. You can find more information directly on the partner university map (map at the top of the page).

Please note that the selection is carried out by Toulouse School of Management, not by the partner university. Therefore, it is unnecessary to contact the partner university regarding this matter.

Students register and pay tuition fees at TSM (Université Toulouse Capitole) and are exempt from paying tuition fees at the host university.

Transportation and living expenses are the responsibility of participants, as well as various other costs (e.g., health insurance), which may be required by the host institution.

Many mobility scholarships are available, such as the Erasmus+ grant, the Occitanie regional grant, and others. For more information, consult the International Mobility Scholarships and Assistance Office at Université Toulouse Capitole.

TSM students can benefit from the Green Mobility Assistance. Students whose round-trip journey to the host country is made by train, bus, or carpooling (with a third party) can receive the eco-responsible allowance.
The amount of the allowance depends on the straight-line distance between the home institution (Toulouse) and the host institution. This distance is calculated using the tool provided by the European Commission.

This allowance will be paid upon submission of scanned transport tickets.

Visa Procedures

Students are advised to contact the embassies or consulates of the destination country in France. Visa applications are the responsibility of the student.

Students can consult the Welcome Desk, which provides practical information sheets for many countries.

Register on the Ariane Portal!

The Ariane Portal is a service of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs that allows French nationals abroad to be contacted if the situation in the country requires it. Registered users will receive information and safety instructions via email or SMS. Additionally, a designated contact person on their account can also be notified if necessary.

The study programme must be validated by your head of programme before departure.

If you wish to modify your study agreement during the year, please complete and send the following documents to the International Relations Office (outgoing@tsm-education.fr) as well as to your programme coordinator at TSM:

The host university will not issue a diploma, but a transcript. Results obtained abroad are validated by a Toulouse School of Management equivalence commission, taking into account an equivalence grid. The diploma obtained is therefore French.
