Every year, on 10 October, World Mental Health Day highlights the importance of psychological well-being. On this occasion, TSM – Toulouse School of Management wishes to remind its students that numerous services and support systems are available throughout the year to assist them, provide guidance, and help them maintain balance in their daily lives.
Taking care of your mental health
This symbolic day reminds us that mental health is essential and should never be neglected.
TSM students are encouraged to make full use of the services available to them, confidentially and with kindness.
As part of Université Toulouse Capitole, Toulouse School of Management offers its students access to a wide range of services and support mechanisms provided by the university to promote everyday well-being.
Health and Support Services at TSM
The SIMPPS: Comprehensive and Confidential Support
The Service Interuniversitaire de Médecine Préventive et de Promotion de la Santé (SIMPPS) is a medical and social support service dedicated to students. Free and confidential, it offers comprehensive care including consultations with general practitioners and specialists.
Students can also access a nurse consultation Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the Arsenal campus (Rempart building).
In addition to general medical follow-up, the SIMPPS provides psychological and psychiatric support, as well as specialist consultations in gynaecology, nutrition, smoking cessation, and family planning. The service also runs a vaccination centre and supports students in arranging disability accommodations.
The Equality Mission Service
The Service Mission Égalité provides specially trained contact persons within the school who are available to listen, support, and guide students from both TSM and Université Toulouse Capitole. Their role is to handle reports, assist with procedures, and, when necessary, alert the relevant authorities.
They are involved in combating all forms of harassment (moral, sexual, etc.), discrimination (racism, disability, etc.), violence, and inequality, including those related to gender.
If you are a victim or a witness, you can report the situation in complete confidence through the anonymous reporting portal created for this purpose.
Support and Prevention Initiatives
In addition to these services, various schemes help students take better care of their mental health on a daily basis. Workshops are organised throughout the year on a range of topics such as sophrology, stress management, and sleep.
The Wecare app, available free of charge, offers short daily activities and reflections to help manage stress, emotions, and lifestyle habits. The Santé Psy Étudiants programme also provides up to 12 free sessions per year with a psychologist, including for students who are already receiving care. For longer-term support, or for those who are no longer students, the Mon soutien psy programme offers a complementary solution.
These initiatives aim to foster a calmer and more supportive study environment, and to prevent more serious psychological difficulties.

Sport: An Ally for Well-Being
Physical activity also plays a vital role in maintaining balance and mental health.
To encourage students to include sport in their daily routines, the Department of Physical and Sports Activities (DAPS) offers a wide range of sports disciplines suitable for all levels.
Participating not only helps maintain good physical health but also reduces stress and encourages social connections.
Taking part in DAPS activities therefore means caring for your body while nurturing your mental well-being.
Listening and Support Services in Toulouse
Alongside these university services, several external organisations also offer confidential support for students:
- Nightline : a free listening service run by students, available daily from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., in French and English,
- Césame : a centre dedicated to the well-being and quality of life of LGBTQIA+ people in Toulouse,
- 3114 : the national suicide prevention hotline, free and available 24/7.
These organisations are valuable resources for talking, being heard, or being referred to a health professional.
Resources for You… and for Others
The COMUE de Toulouse and the SSE Toulouse Occitanie Ouest, with the support of ARS Occitanie, CROUS, the Occitanie Region, and partner institutions, offer the university community, and especially students, free training sessions in Mental Health First Aid (PSSM).
This training helps participants recognise signs of mental distress, adopt the right responses, and refer individuals to appropriate resources.
As the free student sessions often fill up quickly, it is also possible to register for other sessions via their official website.
Finally, remember that there is no shame in seeking help.
Taking care of yourself is an act of courage, and there will always be services and people ready to support you.
