- Can you introduce yourself briefly?
Hello, my name is Zoé Senatore, and I’m a second-year student in the Bachelor of Science in Global Management at TSM. I’m currently in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, as part of my university exchange at UGM (Universitas Gadjah Mada).
- Why did you choose the Bachelor of Science in Global Management?
This programme, entirely taught in English, includes a mix of international students, and offers the opportunity to study abroad!
- What do you like most about this programme?
Without a doubt, the chance to participate in an academic exchange.
- You chose to go abroad for your exchange. What attracted you to Indonesia?
For me, Indonesia was a challenge. By choosing this country, I was stepping out of my comfort zone. Being far from family, immersed in a completely different culture, and navigating everything on my own were entirely new experiences for me. I was also drawn to the opportunity to explore this fascinating country.
- How does TSM support you in this opportunity?
Before leaving, I had many questions about the required documents and tests, and TSM was there to provide answers. I also connected with TSM students who had previously studied abroad, which helped me make an informed decision. Even after arriving in Indonesia, I had questions about my learning agreement, and every query was addressed promptly!
- How is your exchange experience going?
Everything is going great here. What makes this experience special for me are the people I’ve met. Together, we’ve travelled extensively and discovered some of the most stunning landscapes in Indonesia. However, I must admit that the daily routine and life in Yogyakarta are not my favourite aspects.
- How do you think this exchange will benefit your studies?
First, it has greatly improved my English, a crucial skill in today’s job market. This experience is also a strong addition to my CV. Additionally, I’ve gained insights into a new culture, connected with people from around the world, and travelled extensively, broadening my horizons. These experiences will definitely set me apart in the future.
- What advice would you give to a student hesitating about an academic exchange?
I believe stepping out of your comfort zone is essential. It helps you discover yourself, experience new cultures, meet new people, and learn so much. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that profoundly impacts both your personal and professional life. For these reasons, I encourage students not to fear or hesitate when presented with such an opportunity.
- Any anecdotes to share?
Here in Indonesia, life is very affordable, allowing me to fully enjoy my daily life. For instance, I order food almost every day because I rarely cook. Plus, I can travel a lot at a reasonable cost!
