TSM – Toulouse School of Management is continuing its transformation in the area of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (DDRS), through an ambitious and collaborative strategy.
Structured around four key pillars – governance, teaching, research, and school life – this approach is firmly embedded in every aspect of the institution, with active contributions from staff, faculty, and students alike.
Programmes Geared Towards Future Challenges
The school is strengthening the integration of social and environmental issues into its curricula, starting from the very first year at TSM.
Introduced for the first time during the 2024–2025 academic year, the course Responsible and Civic Management raises awareness among undergraduate students and actively involves them: this year, first-year undergraduates completed more than 3,000 hours of voluntary work for various associations in Toulouse and the surrounding areas.
This momentum will continue to grow in the 2025–2026 academic year, with an additional module in the second year of undergraduate studies focused on the organisational and managerial aspects of responsibility.
Furthermore, TSM and the École Supérieure pour la Qualité, l’Environnement, la Santé et la Sécurité en Entreprise (ESQESE) at the Institut Catholique de Toulouse (ICT) are launching a new work-study Master’s in CSR, now running over two years instead of a single year in Master 2 as previously.
This new first-year Master's programme aims to train professionals capable of leading CSR initiatives in all types of organisations.
Research Committed to Ecological Transitio
TSM-Research places sustainability and ecological transition at the heart of its academic output.
Among this year’s key initiatives are the participation of Stéphan Pezé, DDRS project lead for TSM, in meetings of the Toulouse-based network, the organisation of the first Workshop on Sustainable Work on 16–17 June 2025, and the preparation of the 20th RIODD Conference, scheduled for October 2025.
Today, 40% of the PhD theses defended at TSM over the past five years address topics related to ethics, responsibility, or sustainability. These research projects contribute to a deeper understanding of the managerial transformations needed to address climate challenges.
An Engaged Student Community
Ecological transition is also a daily reality on campus. Guided by a socio-ecological transition committee, school life is enriched with practical initiatives, including:
-
Participatory workshops (Climate Fresco, Digital Fresco, Biodiversity Fresco)
-
Campaigns on campus to raise awareness among students of their environmental impact when travelling, as well as waste sorting in communal areas
-
Awareness campaigns, events, and charitable collections in support of associations throughout the year.
This commitment is also reflected at the student level, with the creation of the Ecolibris association in 2025.
The aim of this student-led group is to unite students around these issues through engaging campaigns and workshops, thereby strengthening the student community’s role in the school’s DDRS strategy.
TSM is committed to training professionals capable of supporting societal and organisational transitions with an ethical, sustainable, and responsible approach to management.
