Can you introduce yourself in a few words?

Hi ! My name is Juliette, I’m 20. I’m in my 3rd year of Bachelor  of Science in Global Management at Toulouse School of Management and currently on a 6-month academic exchange in Mexico City at ITAM. Alongside my studies, I'm interested in lots of things, especially art and more specifically jewelry and the creative process that goes with it. I'd love to link this passion to my future job, first by choosing a master's degree specialized in marketing and then by completing it with enriching internships in sectors that appeal to me.

Why did you choose the Bachelor of Science in Global Management after highschool?

I saw that this new Bachelor's program was opening its doors when I got my parcoursup results, and I jumped on the opportunity. I thought it was really interesting that the program was in English, because it meant I could share classes with foreign students and teachers from all over the world. It also offers innovative teaching using a flipped classroom approach, which means we have fewer lessons and more time to prepare lessons and group works. The course also has a strong focus on sustainable development, which is very important these days.

What's your favorite thing about this Bachelor?

I think it would be all the practical cases that we have to work on as a group. Firstly, it teaches you how to work in a team, which is really important for later on, and secondly, it helps you understand each topic from a more professional angle.

Why did you go on a mobility trip to Mexico?

I became interested in Mexico thanks to a TSM meeting I attended where a student was talking about his experience and seemed to love his university exchange. I also thought that it's not every day you get to go so far away, so this was the perfect opportunity. The school is also highly ranked nationally and worldwide! And I’m super excited to keep discovering this country. Then I chose ITAM because it offered a lot of courses related to my program in France and had a very good ranking in the country.

How is TSM supporting you in this opportunity?

TSM organizes a lot of sessions dedicated to finding out more about how each country works, what it's like for former students and what their advice is. There are also a lot of meetings organized to find out how scholarships work, how to fill in your Learning Agreement, how to apply for insurance... International relations are also very present by e-mail to answer our questions. TSM also offers language courses before our departure, to help us prepare for our arrival.

How is your mobility going?

My mobility abroad is going very well, as exchange students, we're very well supported by our teachers, who want us to succeed. It's true that the level at ITAM is very high, so it's important to work regularly so as not to get lost or fall behind. In addition, the school offers a wide range of activities on campus, including various sports and salsa classes. The school also offers a buddy program, which I'd recommend if you're coming here. The Mexican students are very involved in this program, which enables us to create real links with them and talk directly to them if we have any problems or concerns.

What does the international aspect of your training bring to you?

Firstly, I would say that the international aspect of my training has enriched me culturally and continues to do so today. It's really important to navigate through different cultures to understand different perceptions of the world and its challenges. The training also allows me to improve or even perfect my English. And finally, it prepares me to work in an international environment.

What advice would you give to a future student choosing the Bachelor of Science in Global Management at TSM?

Prepare your lessons in advance, because the course is build as flipped classroom, teachers expect you to have real discussions during class. Don’t stress about oral presentations, there is a lot done by groups or individually but they are here to help you become more at ease. And organize your days. You have a lot of free time that must be dedicated to plan your meetings, assignments, oral presentations and class preparation.
