Biography
Matthieu Bouvard is a Full Professor in Finance and is a member of Toulouse School of Economics (TSE). Matthieu is the Coordinator of the Finance track of the TSM Doctoral Programme. Matthieu is also a member of TSM’s Board of Directors, the TSE Department Committee (CoDep), and the TSE Recruitment Committee.
His research focuses on financial intermediation and the impact of technological innovation in finance (Fintech). His work has been published in international journals such as Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Economics, and Management Science. He has also received funding from the National Research Agency in France (Young Researcher – JCJC grant), and from provincial and federal agencies in Canada (FRQSC, IFSID, SSHRC). Matthieu was also awarded the 2020 Best Young Researcher in Finance and Insurance Award by the Institut Louis Bacherlier and SCOR Foundation for Science.
Matthieu has also been a Visiting Professor at HEC Paris (2020), TSE (2017 -2018), University of Paris – Dauphine (2016), and VU Amsterdam (2015).
He obtained his PhD from the Toulouse Capitole University in 2009. Prior to joining TSM, Matthieu was an Assistant and Associate Professor of Finance at the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University (Canada).
