Biography
Jonathan Maurice is Associate professor in Accounting, specialising in Environmental Accounting and Management Control. Jonathan is also the Head of the Master in Management Control and Organisational Auditin (first year) and has been a member of the Toulouse Capitole University Risk Steering Committee since 2019.
His research focuses on management control systems and environmental accounting, with an interest in the influences of management control systems on behaviors within and between organizations and how accountants address uncertainty regarding ‘environmental’ accounting numbers. His ongoing projects investigate the influence of interactive management control tools on cooperation in a horizontal network of organizations and the implementation of an accounting and budgeting risk management system in the public sector.
He has published articles regarding the paradox of accounting innovation adoption, such as the ABC costing method and the reliability of environmental accounting provisions in leading journals, such as Revue Française de Gestion, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, M@n@gement, Compatibilité, Contôle, Audit, and Finance Contrôle Stratégie.
Jonathan obtained his PhD from Montpellier University in 2012. He previously held positions as a lecturer, as well as a temporary Teaching and Research Associate at Montpellier University. Jonathan is also an alumni of the École normale supérieure de Cachan (Paris Saclay) and laureate of the French aggregation in Economics and Management.
