Biography

Dr. David Hampton-Musseau (PhD) is a qualified Associate Professor (CNU-06, 2024-2028) in management sciences at the University of Toulouse Capitole (TSM-R, CNRS UMR 5303 section 37). He specializes in sustainability, organizational behavior, affective experience, and leadership. Drawing on "grounded cognition" and a Spinozist perspective on affect and ethics, he examines emotions in the context of sustainability and in the face of significant challenges.

His thesis focused on abusive supervision and its impact on employees’ emotional expertise. His research now takes a critical approach to emotional dynamics, ethics, narratives, and individual or organizational practices, aiming to contribute to more just and sustainable organizations.

Before entering academia, he had over 20 years of experience as an executive across various sectors, particularly collaborating with start-ups and SMEs. He is a member of several academic and professional networks, including the Academy of Management (AoM), the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS), ATÉCOPOL (ATelier d’ÉCOlogie POLitique), the International Network Ecological Crises & Organization (ECO), and the Network of Emotions (EMONET).
