Why did you choose Toulouse?

Toulouse is one of the top student cities in France, especially for international students. The city is a center for aerospace and technology in France and Europe, which attracts people from different cultures and backgrounds. This cultural diversity provides me with a unique experience living and studying here. Toulouse also has a big airport, making it easy to travel to many destinations in France and internationally. And last but not least, the food here is amazing, with many excellent restaurants and cafes. I love the farmer's markets, where we can find fresh and delicious foods directly from the farmers!

Why did you choose TSM?

I chose TSM for its high quality and its reputation. I am an alumnus of Universite Toulouse Capitole, where I obtained my bachelor's degree through a cooperative programme with Vietnam National University. I was impressed with the high quality of the programme and the reputation of IAE Toulouse, now known as Toulouse School of Management. So when I was searching for a programme to continue my studies, TSM was the first choice that came to my mind.

Also, I was attracted to the design of TSM's Doctoral programme. It provides a solid foundation for students with little prior research knowledge like me. The programme's first year (MSc) allowed me to discover my interests and gain foundational research knowledge before starting my PhD. Last but not least, TSM has a dynamic and expert team of researchers in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), which is particularly relevant to my interests.

What is your best memory of your life in France?

The moment I was accepted into the PhD program was unforgettable for me. While working on my MSc thesis, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to change my research project and struggled with academic writing, as I had never done it before. However, my supervisors were very supportive and patiently guided me to complete the thesis and overcome all the challenges. And finally, I made it!

Why would you recommend TSM to students from your home school?

I would recommend TSM firstly, for high quality and diverse range of programmes in management, especially many programmes offered entirely in English. These programmes not only provide theoretical knowledge but also offer various opportunities for students to gain practical experience, such as internships and study abroad programmes.

Secondly, for the international environment, where you can exchange with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Finally, for the people. The professors, staff, and colleagues at TSM are friendly and supportive, fostering academic growth and development.
