Biography
Jennifer Boutant Lapeyre is an Associate Professor in Accounting. She is the Head of the Accounting and Control Department and has been the Director of the Master 2 Master in Accounting, Control and Auditing since 2013. She was Vice President of the France Master CCA Association from 2016 to 2022 and has been a member of the Consultative Commission for the Professional Training of Chartered Accountants at MESRI since 2017.
Her research deals with accounting and reporting practices of companies and questions the compliance of reporting with legal and accounting provisions, as well as the place of ethics in the accounting and reporting system in the face of stakeholders' expectations. Her work also focuses on results and impression management practices that can be interpreted as behaviors that undermine the quality of financial and non-financial reporting. The contexts of mergers and acquisitions and downsizing studied have been the subject of several publications in journals such as Comptabilité Contrôle Audit-Accounting Auditing Control, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Revue Française de Gestion and Revue des Sciences de Gestion.
She obtained her PhD from the University Toulouse Capitole in 2008. Jennifer previously held a position as an Associate Professor and then a Temporary Teaching and Research Associate at TSM. She also did a research stay at the Chair of Financial and Organizational Information of the University of Quebec in Montreal during her PhD.
