Le Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Global Management est un programme de trois ans à plein temps dispensé en présentiel, pour un total de 180 ECTS, enseigné entièrement en anglais, avec une admission chaque année en automne.

Ce programme généraliste de premier cycle en management global combine des bases académiques rigoureuses dans tous les domaines de la gestion avec des aperçus pratiques du monde professionnel. Après le BSc, les étudiants peuvent continuer en Master à TSM ou ailleurs dans le monde.

Le BSc vise à :

  • fournir de solides bases théoriques, analytiques et techniques en management afin d’apporter des solutions à des problèmes mondiaux,
  • encourager les étudiants à apprendre aussi bien à l'intérieur qu’à l'extérieur de la salle de classe,
  • faire travailler ensemble une communauté internationale dynamique et collaborative, d’enseignants, d’étudiants, d’anciens élèves, d’entreprises partenaires et de partenaires internationaux,
  • avoir des diplômés dotés de fortes aptitudes personnelles, interpersonnelles et multiculturelles,
  • développer rigueur scientifique, esprit d'analyse et conscience éthique chez les étudiants

La philosophie éducative du programme est en trois phases : Éveiller (1ère année), Développer (2ème année), Accélérer (3ème année).

Au cours de la première année, les étudiants suivent des cours sur : les principes fondamentaux des sciences de la gestion ; les institutions internationales ; les systèmes politiques comparés. D’autres cours fondamentaux complètent ces cours introductifs tels que la comptabilité, la finance, le marketing et l’économie d'entreprise.

En deuxième année, l'accent est mis sur les perspectives alternatives et les contextes spécifiques de l'innovation, de la gestion de projet, de la géopolitique, de la gouvernance et de l'environnement juridique. Cela permet aux étudiants d'acquérir une compréhension de l'entrepreneuriat et du développement durable.

En troisième année, les étudiants approfondissent les modèles théoriques et les compétences analytiques pour leur permettre d'affiner leur esprit critique.

Au cours des trois années du programme BSc, les étudiants doivent passer un semestre ou une année à l'étranger dans l'une des universités partenaires de TSM.

UE01 Management science

  • Objectifs pédagogiques

    A) Course overview
    The main purpose of this course is to cover many approaches to solving business problems from a managerial point of view. It also puts a solid emphasis on students operating and functioning as if they were in organizations and offers analytical frameworks that will help them increase their effectiveness and skill in observing, understanding and managing behavior in organizations. The course will selectively survey ideas and frameworks from different organizational theories and explore their implications for managerial practice.

    By the end of the course, students will be able to:

    • Comprehend management theories with the flexibility of their adaptation to work context
    • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of values, ethics, and social responsibility for the self and for contemporary society

    • Integrate knowledge of the key theories


    C) Skills and attitudes
    By the end of the course, students will be able to:

    • Objectifs pédagogiques

      A) Course overview

      Economics provides a useful set of tools for analysing the world and aiding decision-making by businesses and governments. This module aims to give students an overview of several of these tools and of the insights that can be obtained with them. We will particularly focus on the tools most relevant to businesses. Most of the lectures are on microeconomic topics, looking at the actions of firms and of individuals. However, the module also covers macroeconomic problems and policies, looking at the economy as a whole. This is followed by an exposition of international economic issues. This course also aims to introduce the students to environmental economics. Effort will be made to relate the course materials to current economic issues and problems relevant to managers. In order to provide a useful treatment of these topics it is necessary to stress fundamentals and to explore the limitations associated with the assumptions of economic models.

       

      B) Knowledge, understanding and cognitive objectives

      By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

      • Define key concepts from economic theory, as applied in business contexts
      • Explain how supply and demand interact to determine market prices
      • Identify the forces determining the level of macroeconomic activity
      • Interpret the role of monetary policy in influencing the economy 
      • Reflect on changing market conditions and possible government intervention to formulate appropriate and sustainable organisational responses

       

      C) Skills and attitudes

      By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

      • Practice self-directed and reflective learning
      • Honing effective communication skills
      • Question new concepts, models and ideas
      • Appraise economic articles in a newspaper such as the Financial Times or The Economist

      • Searching, reviewing and organizing financial data

      The course is positioned at the end of the first year of the BSc and rely on 2 courses: mathematics for business and probability. The theoretical and applied knowledge acquired in this course will support strategic thinking in a business context and provide students the ability to recognise, use and interpret economic information from both within the organisation and the wider environment during the second and third year of the BSc.

      • Objectifs pédagogiques

        A) Course overview

        Mathematics play an important part in managing any business, for example to calculate production cost, determine product pricing, measure profits, and analyze the financial health of a company. This course aims to give the students the mathematical tools they will need in anticipation of their future econometrics and data science courses. Therefore, students will need some basic elements of logic, and some elementary skills regarding the study of functions and sequences that are the core of continuous and discrete modeling.

         

        B) Knowledge, understanding and cognitive objectives

        By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

        • Write a proof using the contrapositive of a conditional statement, a proof by induction
        • Manipulate the summation and product operators to add or multiply a sequence of terms
        • Know the definition and basic properties of arithmetic and geometric sequences, and how to determine their potential limit
        • Know how to solve basic equations and simultaneous equations
        • Know the definition of a numeric function, and how to use its derivative, its primitive to study it for example in an optimization problem
        • Know the definition and basic properties of a vector, a matrix (especially square matrixes, including diagonal and identity)
        • Choose the right mathematical tools to model a situation and answer a specific question or solve a case study

         

        C) Skills and attitudes

        By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

        • Structure their arguments following a rigorous logical pattern
        • Communicate their approach and conclusions in an accurate and concise way
        • Be able to collaborate efficiently and respectfully with one’s peers and instructors during the live sessions, and in order to produce the errors analysis report which will be part of the formative assessment.

         

        D) Digital skills

        By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

        • Choose the right digital tool (software or online service) to model the data (typically sequences and/or functions) related to a given problem, and generate a graph or chart representing it.
        • Find the most appropriate tool to generate a graph related to the studied data, and be able to interpret it
        • Choose an appropriate environment to collaborate with one’s classmates in order to complete the formative assessment

                    A) Course overview

                    Over the 3 years of the BSc in Global Management students have to build their professional project to complete internships, create their own business or apply to a master degree. The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the necessary preliminary information and skills to display both professional and ethical attitudes. In order to provide a useful treatment of these topics, students will attend several seminars and workshops.

                    The technical part of the course is positioned during the first year of the BSc. The knowledge acquired in this course will equip students with a toolkit for internship, job search and business creation. Starting in January of the 1st year of the BSc, students will build on those tools and techniques to attend an entrepreneurial seminar series, innovation treks, alumni talks, and corporate days. In the 2nd year of the BSc, students will dig further in leadership skills and will acquire theoretical knowledge about innovation and entrepreneurship.

                    A) Course overview

                    The marketing function has undergone a significant evolution from marketing understood as distribution in production-oriented firms to a customer-centric, value-driven, and stakeholder-oriented management concept. This introductory marketing course aims at preparing (future) marketers to proactively deal with these challenges by discussing the key concepts and principles in marketing. To achieve the course’s learning goals, the learning experience combines self-paced video lessons, interactive live face-to-face sessions, and reflective analysis of learning outcomes.

                    By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

                    • Embrace marketing as function within the company and as customer-focused concept beyond departmental boundaries.
                    • Master the basic concepts in strategic marketing.
                    • Design a customer- and value-centered marketing plan based on the relevant marketing parameters.

                    • Recognize that a good marketer is a responsible marketer and actor in society.
                    • Adopt and apply the language and vocabulary of the marketing discipline.

                    • Design searching strategies to find the most appropriate data and information,
                    • and critically assess this digital content for real-life examples and marketing case studies.

                  • Objectifs pédagogiques

                    A) Course overview
                    Financial managers and entrepreneurs are responsible for acquiring funds (cash) needed by the firm and directing these funds into projects that will maximize the value of the firm for its owners. The purpose of this core class is to offer the basic concepts and tools necessary to understand how financial markets work, and how financial instruments are used for sound investment decisions. In order to provide a useful treatment of these topics it is necessary to stress fundamentals and to explore topics at a somewhat technical level. This course also aims to introduce the students to sustainable finance. Effort will be made to relate the course material to current financial issues and problems relevant to practitioners.

                    • Compare how securities are traded
                    • Make use of cash-flows with different time horizons

                    • Objectifs pédagogiques

                      A) Course overview

                      Even if you are an experienced manager and your instinct tells you that a business decision is the right one, relying on instinct alone to make decisions can be hazardous. A series of events can result in multiple outcomes, because there are too many data involved. In order to predict which decision will lead to a determined outcome, one has to compute all these data and choose which indicator will be relevant, and that's where statistics and probability step in.

                       

                      B) Knowledge, understanding and cognitive objectives

                      By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

                      • Understand and manipulate the basic tools in descriptive statistics
                      • Choose the right graphic to represent data and know how to interpret it
                      • Know how to compute probabilities, with discrete and continuous random variables
                      • Know how to solve basic equations and simultaneous equations
                      • Know how to compute and when to use the different moments, and what they represent
                      • Know how to choose a relevant sample, test an hypothesis, and determine a confidence interval
                      • Choose the right mathematical tools to model a situation and answer a specific question or solve a case study

                        A) Course overview

                        This course is an introduction about how to (ethically) conduct a research project in human and social sciences. Students will become familiar with the basic concepts and methods of research. They will use this knowledge to review literature relevant to their interests and to propose an appropriate research project to inform an important managerial or organizational issue. As such, they will determine how research findings are useful in forming their understanding of their environment.

                                This module is YOUR free space to share YOUR passion and/or YOUR enthusiasm about a given topic. You can cover the topic of your choice: from soccer or video gaming to societal issues. This is YOUR choice.
                                Constraints:

                                • An international perspective
                                • An ethics/responsibility/sustainability focus in the content of your topic. Let me take 2 examples:
                                  • if you are covering soccer with a special focus on the next world cup you can cover human rights in Qatar.
                                  • If you are covering video gaming you could look at the impact of electronic components on the biodiversity and/or climate change.
                                • The outcome must be creative and digital: short video, several videos, blogging, video blogging, podcasting, sharing via social network, wiki-ing...
                                • The outcome should be useable on your CV to showcase your skills

                                  Conditions d'admission:

                                  Pour pouvoir être admis, les candidats intéressés doivent détenir un diplôme d'études secondaires correspondant au niveau le plus élevé de l'enseignement secondaire (par exemple, le baccalauréat général français, le diplôme vwo néerlandais, le Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife allemand, le Gaozhong et le Gaokao chinois et au moins une année d'études universitaires, le High School Diploma aux États-Unis, etc...).

                                  Vous n'avez pas encore obtenu votre diplôme ? Vous pouvez postuler si vous êtes en dernière année d'enseignement secondaire, mais seulement si vous obtenez votre diplôme avant le début de votre programme à TSM (c'est-à-dire avant la fin du mois d'août).

                                  À noter qu'au cours des trois années du programme BSc, les étudiants doivent passer un semestre ou une année à l'étranger dans l'une des universités partenaires de TSM.
