Summer Schools

Every year, our partners offer summer school programmes to our students !

Summer Schools are short term courses organised by our partner institutions during the months of June, July and August. They are open to students from Bachelor to Master level and the majority of the courses are taught in English. Taking part in a Summer School is an excellent way to further your knowledge in a particular subject area or to develop an interest in a new topic. It is an opportunity to benefit from specialist teaching from internationally reknowned professors and to be part of a a mixed, dynamic and international class of students.
Summer Schools represent a unique opportunity to be part of an international classroom whilst studying in a new country and at the heart of a new culture. On top of your studies, you can take part in a wide range of social activities, cultural and company visits, day trips or weekends away to discover your country, strengthen your knowledge and deepen your new found friendships.

"Fashion Management"

Accomodation: Accepted students will be provided with a list of housing options at the University. Prices range from 20€ - 90€ per night depending on your choice.

Master the in's and out's of fashion management in two global fashion capitals: Antwerp and Paris! "Europe Inside Out"

During this 14-day residential course jointly offered by the Faculties of Arts, Economics & Business and Social Sciences you combine two majors, chosen from a list of four: Doing Business with Europe(ans); Policies & Politics in the EU; Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Europe; and Social & Demographic Issues. The course includes visits to Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges and Luxemburg. "European Challenges"

Cost: 875€ for students coming from partner universities (includes: accomodation, courses and course materials, cultural activities, breakfast, lunch and dinner.)

The options aims to provide a tailored analysis of “Entrepreneurship and Technology”,  “Economics and Finance”, “International Business( Advanced)” or "Business Law" with half the course being given on the specific topics. It develops students’ grasp of business, economics and policy issues and especially their interactions. The program features classes, trips and activities designed to give students opportunities to learn about the business challenges across the European Union. The broad topic is called the European Challenges.  During our summer school you will be attending lectures given by internationally recognized professors and researchers from different backgrounds, while getting a taste of what the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management is about. This summer institute offers you the best opportunity to visit the capital of Europe and learn a bit more about the Belgian culture. You will be guided by the local students who will show you the must-see places of Brussels.

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) is internationally accredited and a leading European business school. The International Summer University Programme is one of the world's longest running and largest summer schools. In 2017 ISUP will offer approx. 45 courses taught in English at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They will cover a wide range of classic business courses as well as more diverse, innovative and entrepreneurial courses, which draw on other academic disciplines.

Cost: Fees are waived for students from partner universities.
Accomodation: AU offers two types of accomodation: students residences or shared houses. Rent includes heating, electricity, internet and bed linen. You will have access to a kicthen but meals are not included. Prices for 1 month vary between 452€- 804€ depending on the month and the type of accomodation you choose. You can also find your own accomodation.

The programme at AU Summer University consist of a broad variety of courses, taught in English at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, within the fields of: Arts, Business and Economics, Business Communication, Political Science and Law, Health, Science and Technology. AU Summer University welcomes Danish and international full-time students, exchange students and free movers. Norway NHH 

"Natural Resource Management and policy: the norwegian model" - For Masters students only

Cost: As a public institution there are no costs for tutition fees for international students. Approximate cost for living expenses including all planned activities but excluding meals: 556€ 
Accomodation: Housing is provided at a reasonsable cost to all students accepted to the graduate school. 

Learn how to manage natural resources from experts in the field. Natural Resource Management and policy: The Norwegian Model is a summer course open for MBA or MSC students from NHH partner schools.
The programme has been developed and organised by NHH faculty in partnership with a range of companies active in the industries examined on the course. Company visits and case studies form a major part of the course schedule.

"Leadership and Management in a Global World"

The course is about leadership, strategy and change in a global business context. It confronts students with strategic business issues of today with the aim to develop business knowledge and to imrpove leaderships skills to deal with these issues in a more effective and creative way. In the global context companies are confronted with business issues such as increasing speed of innovation, cultural diversity, need for differentiation, increasing competition, rising energy costs and stricter regulations on CO2 emissions, etc. These issues are not isolated.  "Marketing Skills for the 21st Century" 

"We're in a 21st century, transparent and connected world"- Guler Sabanci. The now nearly global availability of the internet and heightened connectivity in general are fundamentally changing the way we do, grow and promote business. This cours aims to give an overview of the trends and challenges in (international) marketing, to equip students with both the skills and knowledge to market products in the scattered and complex 21st century marketing landscape. In this course, students will learn about topics such as crowd funding and crowd-sourcing; different social media strategies; visual story telling; viral and guerrilla marketing and the use of big data for marketing purposes in relation to small entrepreneurship. All these new marketing tools and techniques are positioned against the background of 21st century trends and megatrends and focus on a different approach to business, such as "giving back to society", sustainability, anti- consumerism, local communities, glocalization, and increased transparency and total connectivity

JAMK University of Applied Sciences arranges an International Summer School every year in May – June. Our Summer School is a one to three-week educational period offered both to our students and students of our partner institutes. "Leadership and Organisational Behaviour in Contemporary Organisations"

People are the key resources in organisations and good leadership may help to mobilise, guide and inspire their actions. Leadership is about lifting people’s vision to high goals, raising their own performance and their contribution to organisational performance. This course provides students with knowledge on how people behave in organisations and the role of leadership in contemporary organisations. The course offers an interdisciplinary perspective and provides students with insights into international state-of –the-art theories of organisational behaviour and leadership, and practical cases and examples of Swedish and international firms. The students will also be encouraged to reflect on their own behaviours and prerequisites for becoming a leader.
