Matthieu Bouvard - Winner of the 2020 Best Young Researcher Award in Finance and Insurance
Matthieu Bouvard, professor at TSM, Finance department, is the recipient of the 2020 Best Young Researcher in Finance and Insurance prize awarded by the ILB/Europlace Institute and the SCOR Foundation for Science. The prize ceremony took place at the “Rising Talents in Finance and Insurance” event during the 14th Financial Risk International Forum.
An inspiring research commitment
Matthieu Bouvard’s research focuses on financial intermediation and the impact of technological innovation in finance. The prize committee singled out “The Blockchain Folk Theorem” published in Review of Financial Studies in 2019 as an outstanding contribution. This paper was written in collaboration with two other TSM Professors, Christophe Bisière and Catherine Casamatta as well as Bruno Biais (HEC Paris). It is part of an emerging research field at the intersection of Economics and Computer Sciences.
