Gratiferia: 200 kg of donations at TSM's free braderie
The Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility department of Toulouse School of Management organised its first Gratiferia on October 25, 2022. This initiative enabled the collection of almost 200 kg of donations for the school's students.
What is a “Gratiferia”?
The Gratiferia is a free sale where people can leave donations (objects, small furniture, household appliances, clothes) not used by their owners, and offer them free of charge to those who need them.
TSM called on the generosity of the staff of the school and of the Toulouse 1 Capitole University to collect nearly 200 kg of clothing, household appliances and crockery.
All of the donations were then offered free of charge to the school's students during a lunch break, which was a sign of the circular economy and generosity.
A look back at the TSM Gratiferia
230 people came to the campus to discover this event and left with clothes and objects of their choice.
Only 15 kg of donations, or less than 10% of the total, remained at the end of the Gratiferia. The remaining items and clothes were then donated to Emmaus to give them a second life outside the school.
The event was very well received by the students and will probably be repeated in the spring. The students also offered to become the next collectors and co-hosts of the second edition of the Gratiferia.
